Impact investing around the world — blurring the boundaries

Teresa Chahine, Alfanar

The lines between venture philanthropy, impact investing, and socially responsible investing are blurring as investors and entrepreneurs across the spectrum find increasingly innovative ways of creating value on multiple fronts. The panelists will share examples of investments from around the world that highlight creative financing mechanisms, impact metrics, and sector-agnostic approaches which are allowing their organizations to carve out new territories in previously unpioneered markets. A common question addressed across geographic regions is, do we play a role beyond scoping and supporting existing entrepreneurial activities, to catalyze new ways of thinking in different communities?
